I’m Paola, but everyone calls me Pao.

I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I first discovered writing as a way to make sense of the world around me. What began as an outlet grew into a genuine interest in people, stories and the ideas that connect them.

I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Advertising and Branding, concentrating in Copywriting. After college, I moved to Miami and joined VMLY&R, later transitioning to República Havas.

I’ve worked across a wide range of industries with client experience spanning Walgreens, GMCVB (Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau), Sedano’s Supermarkets, Nissan, Wendy’s, Colchones Calm in Argentina and AARP. My work extends across multiple media channels including social media, digital campaigns, broadcast, big idea brand platforms, proactive concepts and print.

Alongside my agency work, I founded Markas, a branding studio dedicated to helping professionals and small businesses develop strong, strategic brand identities.

Outside of advertising, I’m a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and I write poetry, a creative practice that keeps me grounded and inspired.

As I move into this next chapter, I’m focused on producing thoughtful, culturally relevant work that connects brands and audiences with clarity and purpose.
